CHRIS JEWELL
CHRIS JEWELL is a multi-instrumentalist and caller, but is happiest when playing melodeon for folk dancing and ceilidhs.
He gave his first workshops for Folk Camps in 1979.
Since then he has played and called at many folk festivals and English Folk Dance and Song Society dance clubs throughout the UK, with a variety of bands including Touchstone, Matrix, Broken Ankles and The Folk Camps Party Band.
After many years in Sussex and then Buckinghamshire, he now lives in North Devon with his wife Kerstin.
ALASTAIR GAVIN
ALASTAIR GAVIN is a keyboardist, musical director, composer and arranger who has run music workshops at Folk Camps since 2005.
He has worked with pop, jazz and contemporary classical artists ranging from Paul McCartney to Michael Nyman, and on various shows in London’s West End.
He was keyboards presenter on
BBC 2’s Rockschool II and is currently composing electronic music for TV, film and live performance.
He runs All Saints Sessions, a poetry and electronics performance series with his wife, poet Cheryl Moskowitz.
